Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone with a special hug from Santa.
Dad was photographing Santa who appeared at our local shopping centre along with a parade of locals dressed up in costumes including Cinderella,  Prince Charming and the ugly sister. Quite an event and certainly fun.

Speech day at a school

Edward  and his classmates were presented with a book and a handshake from the schools principle during a large ceremony called "speech day". This was their first large stage event toward the end of the 1st year in which the whole school attend. Introduced by the schools bagpipes and drums, presentations and awards followed. Actually our little "preppies" all seemed to take it in their stride while proud parents and teachers looked on. Well done son!

Old toys

They maybe times when I'm tempted to pass on old toys especially when it becomes too hard to walk without stepping on them and running the risk of breaking ones neck. But the old favourites still excite so I think that we will be holding onto this one. Edward still loves it, only now his designs are more elaborate.

But it's a good job indoor recreation is happening we have had two days of 35c in the shade! It will only get hotter....

Back online

Sorry - we have been off-line for a whole month waiting for our internet provider and our postal service to get their act together. Since then we have of course had Dad arrive with lots to report. After only a few days getting over jet-lag, Dad was in full swing and needed to be. We have wined, dined and entertained, wooing Dad to convince him that coming out here is the right thing to do. Both Emma and Edward haven't stopped grinning and of course I have another member of family to enjoy.
Last week we travelled to the sunshine coast for a weeks holiday sharing a top floor apartment with the sea in front and a heated pool behind- bliss. The sea water was just as perfect as it can be. We loved it.

So for now, here are some images of good times.

Afternoon Tea

It's getting so hard to be allowed to photograph Edward now, but afternoon tea, bribed with mum's biscuits did the job.
So here is Edward, haircut and no front teeth, in all of his glory. I hope he forgives me in his later years!

Till then it was this, as playful as he is.

Come on City!..
Since Manchester City became premier league winners. Edward has become addicted to playing and watching football. Which is great in my book. I now have a play mate.

Six

Six, on the 9th of June and one grown up boy

On Friday, Edward had his dinosaur birthday party at our house with his chosen friends after school. It was some preparation but well worth the effort...

We're off

Edward's first real race...400 meters around the school oval and finishing 3rd from the rear of the pack.
It was a beautiful event on a beautiful day. Now his ribbon hangs proudly on his bedroom wall.
We are so glad that sport is becoming a pleasure for him and that competition is fun. Just as  it should be..

I spy......

I spy with my big eye, something beginning with "T"....

Well spotted Ed'. Three splendid Tawny Frog Mouth Owls. Camouflaged in a Iron Bark tree and sitting very still. It was only when we called out that one turned and permitted itself to look in our direction.
Now bird book in hand we are enjoying the wildlife in all it's glory. Also Edward now has a small interest talk to do tomorrow at school....

Two weeks in and a chart full of gold stars, Edward's school is going well.  With the arrival of his dream Lego chess set, we now have one very excited boy......

Back to school

Edward starts a new school in the morning, and we wanted to encourage this event and with true parental anxiety we even tried bribery! But Mum's cakes proved to be the reward he was looking for.....

And we had no need to worry....He was cool, spent the day playing with his teachers and new friends while Mum and Dad watched the clock...
A new year.... A new school.... And one grown up boy!

Merry Christmas-Happy New Year

All is well, except all the excess's have made me a little heavier. This year we travelled around spending time with friends and family and had a wonderful time. Thank you. Such fun as usual and some wonderful pressie's for all including an Ice cream maker. Emma's already been busy with delicious gelato. Who knows perhaps we can convince Edward into trying some, it might have be chocolate though!

The weather was perfect too despite the threat of heavy rains, cloud cover kept it much cooler which in turn made for more outside fun and games,
Here are some  images of our festivities...

Happy New Year....
